Powerade and Gatorade are among the most popular sports drinks, but opinions differ as to which one is superior. On a hot day after a workout, Powerade Zero would be a good choice. About as long as koolaid does. The specialist wants him to now regularly consume a “sports drink” but to my horror he recommended Powerade. Just curious if you could think of a more natural drink or drop or tablet that he could drink throughout the day. If you are planning on drinking Powerade just because you are thirsty and want something to wash down your lunch, you may want to reconsider that decision. I would recommend that you check your blood sugar level after drinking Powerade and make sure you notice any changes you may feel after drinking it. Powerade and Gatorade are basically koolaid with a small amount of salt (and some other “electrolytes”) added. As with other diet drinks, in moderation Powerade is an acceptable thirst quencher and a source of electrolytes. Powerade is designed for athletes, and specifically for those who have been engaged in intense, sweat-producing activity for an hour or more. There is barely any potassium or magnesium in Powerade not to mention the other chemicals….
